Hi,

I have had my tank running for sometime now and the parameters seem fairly consistant at pH 8.1-8.3, calcium 420- 450, magnesium 1200-1300, nitrite O, nitrate 5-10, phosphate 0, ammonia 0, strontium 12-15 and kh 10.

I still seem to be geting quite a lot of algae and ? briopsis that seems to be spreading over the corals. I keep pulling it off but to little success.

I have read somewhere that if you increase the magnesium and calcium levels then this will stop or reduce algae growth.

Has anybody got any advice on this or on how I can achieve this.

Thanks.

Hi Stef,

Are you positive that its Bryopsis?

Do you have some nice clear photographs of it?

Hi,

I had it identified from my Journal photo`s.

It seemed to go away but has come back.

Would it be a good thing to raise the magnesium levels to 1500 as advised?

Are there any disadvantages to doing this?

Is that the stuff I thought was macro algae and others thought Bryopsis? Could you re-post the photo here :good:
