Algae Bloom question?

I think that I am gettign a free floating bloom of alage. IT makes the water look hazzy. I have live plants- what can I do to get rid of this?

Usually the cause of an algae bloom is the result of one of the following:
excessive lighting...direct sun or light on too long
water conditions....too much phosphate or nitrate along with excessive lighting
too many fish
An algae bloom can be cured by trying to block all light for a few days.
stop overfeeding and do not feed for a few days...the fish will be ok.
Diatom filters will remove the bloom.
dont over stock the tank
also heard that daphnia will eat the bloom and they then make a great snack for your fish
Water changes ... regular and often
HTH :)
