Algae and Angelfish?!

Hmm...It seems my angelfish have been pecking at some algae on a fake plant. Is this normal? My old ones did not ever do this...

I occasionally see mine nipping at the anacharis and a little beard algae that is on it. I'm not sure if they are after the algae or the anacharis though.

mine eat all my plants in my tank. and theyre really small too!
