wooooooooooo

Mable has vertical stripes, and Alfred has made a smallish bubble nest.
cant see any sign of fry in bubblenest yet but me so excited.

:D

If Mable has vertical stripes, then there shouldn't even be eggs in the bubblenest.

One there are eggs in the bubblenest and she's been pretty much drained of them, then he will chase her off and YOU HAVE TO REMOVE HER QUICKLY. Otherwise, he may (and probably will) kill her to protect his nest.

Then wait at least 29 hours for them to hatch (that's how long it usually takes mine), and then you'll see little tails hanging from your nest. Leave the dad in there still. When most of the fry are swimming horizontally on their own, then you can pull the dad.

It does not seem like you know what you are getting into. I hope you will separate your fish, and atleast read the pinned topic on breeding. If you do not, I fear you will loose 1 or both of your Bettas. Maybe even a few hundred poor helpless fry.

It only takes 29 hours for bettas to have little bettas??? WOW! I need to read up on breeding! :hyper:

It depends on water conditions, such as ph and temperature. Mine on average start to hatch at 29 hours after conception. The usual average is about 30-36 hours after conception.

Im guessing that your bettas are VT's? do you have the space for rasing betta fry? bettas can have many fry, and its not as simple as breeding livebearers by any means.

thanx for info u guys, yes i know what i am getting myself into, and yes i have the time, space and money

i shall be getting to work on a barrack type thing, this weekend, so i will be able to house any male fry, also before the fry have to be seperated i shall be investing in some more large tanks for the female fry
