Ok, so a while back, I posted about my baby "rooster" Alejandro, who turned out to be a hen, that was given to me by my irresponsible neighbors. I'm sad to report that all of thier twelve chickens were killed by the kids through various accidents due to the lack of supervision except for one that uh.... escaped... yes, that's it. Escaped all the way to an animal sanctuary 60 miles away.
Anyways, when I last posted on Alejandro, she was having some troubles with a sinus infection and bumblefoot. It turns out she had a vitamin A deficiency, because she'd been steeling Krelli's (RIP) special diet and was not getting the Vit. A a growing bird needs as a result. Well, anti-biotics, foot wraps, and a very fancy new diet later, she is in excellent health, weight, and plummage, so I thought I'd show her off! Her first birthday was yesterday (well, observed; she came to us on Easter), so Happy Birthday Alejandro!
An old, blurry baby picture.
As a teen!
Today - Very chatty!
Always curious
And very ready to attack the camera!
