Hey Y'all,

Have anyone seen an albino swordtail???? Went down to my lfs yesterday and I saw it!!! No kiddin' man, albino swordtails!!! The best thing is that it was the same price as a normal swordtail!!
Well, the bad news is I couldn't get any as my tank is loaded and besides I am saving money for my rummmynoses (if you haven't read my topic in the "beginner's question" - I am looking for fishes that school tightly and I decided on rummynoses....)
The only thing i can hope is that they will be still around when my 30 gal is up and ready to take fishes....

Anyway, back to the subject - anyone seen albino swordtails??? coz if they are that rare - heck the loaded tank man....i'm getting some of those beauties!!

I want some, too!

IMO swordtails are the most interesting fish I've kept.

I've never seen any albinos in my area, but a quick net search shows that they are out there. They're definitely not as common as albino cories, but I don't they're super rare - possibly moderately rare.

They're a good excuse to buy another tank :hey:

I would love some! They sounds so pretty, I have to agree with noelberg, looks like you have no choice but to buy a new tank for them! :p

I haven't seen albino swordtails but I already want them. I want to have a whole tank of albino fish. Albino corys, guppies and whatever else. I would think that there would be albinos for every species wouldn't there? I would like to see albino neons!

Interesting idea, guppymonkey!
But i wonder if the tank would be too white? :S

Saw some sort of albino tetra - think it was head and tail light - and they were one of the most gorgeous albinos i've seen yet. I'd also like to see one of those albino swordtails in a hi-fin variety

so easy to go albino-crazy!

okay you could scrap the fishless cycle on the 30 gallon and just get one albino female then you will have about 45 albinos in a few months.

i have seen them...but i dont like them..infact i really dont like any albino fish at all

I've never seen them before, they sound awesome.

I have a baby red sword that lacks pigment on it's right side on it's belly and you can see insides and it's guts. It's rather disturbing. lol It's other side is normal, but the other side is like glass...You can see right thru it.

I was thinking....Is it ok to crowd the tank for awhile till my 30 gal arrive...??
I am still not sure when I am gonna buy my 30 gal...maybe in may.
What you all think??

Well normally I wouldn't say yes but May isn't far away, and if you keep the water super clean and do lots of water changes and don't cram it grossly overstocked an extra couple of fish should be okay until you get the bigger tank.

 I've seen albino swordtails before! A pet store near me carries them, but so far I haven't gotton any. They're so cool anyway! :hyper:

 Well, my 46 gallon tank is overcrowded and I've been checking the water daily and everything seems stable. I was forced to cycle my 29 gallon tank again (too many fish were dying and I didn't have the patience to watch them die when there were no indication of disease), so I had to move all of the fish over to my larger tank. :)
