For many years I had in my tank a albino fish, which was a bit over 10cm long. I got it from someone who gave up on their tank and didn't know what else to do with the fish. I never got to know the name of the fish.

Now that I've been looking around on the net, I've seen pictures of Rainbow Sharks (Epalzeorhynchus frenatus). They look exactly like my Red-eyed Devil, as I called him, except that he was an albino. I didn't know there was an albino form of these fish? Am I mistaken and he was something else? In that case, what was he?

Ah ok, that's good to now. :) I really liked my Red-eyed Devil, even though he had his cranky moods sometimes. He was curious and would even eat from my hand. Perhaps I'll get a natural Rainbow Shark some time.

Hehee, there was one funny thing about Red-eyes though. He had decided one of the tree trunks in the tank was his and chased away everyone in the vicinity. I had Bronze and Peppered Corys that were very curious and often came too near, and always got Red-eyes after them. One of them was an albino though, one I'd got at the same time as Red-eyes (seems like the previous owner had a thing for albino fish). Red-eyes would never bother him. He was even allowed to go in under the tree trunk and explore while Red-eyes was in there! I've always wondered if this was because they were both albinos or because they'd grown up together. Funny behavior in any case, and cute. :)
