This is my albino plec-I know there were some concerns regarding if it was a common plec!!The lfs said it wouldn't grow more than 6 inches!!Any opinions greatly appreciated!!

It's an albino liposarcus pardalis, and will reach on average 12-18", but bigger isn't unheard of. Will need a minimum 4ft x 18" x 18" (if under 18" obviously) but bigger should he get larger. I've got one, he's lovely - they grow very quickly, I got him about 2 months ago at just 2", he's now heading around 5" and growing daily ;)

Here's a piccie of a lovely 14" one:

Can you get a bigger pic of it?
Its most likely either an albino common pleco;

Albino form of juvenile common pleco;

Or an albino sailfin pleco;

Both of which pleco's grow pretty big, most common plecos grow to 10-15+inches long, while most sailfins grow to 13-17+inches long. Sometimes you get unusual exceptions where they will grow smaller or a lot larger, but for a common pleco you are looking at a 4ft long by 18inch wide minimum tank, and for a sailfin at least a 5ft long by 2ft wide tank. What size tank is it currently in and what other fish do you have with it?

edit: Lisa beat me to it :) .

seen them sold as golden plecs, but its a common, i agree with LisaLQ, got two myself
