Finally! Beanie my little almost all white koi swordy female had babies sometime last night. Cecil the all white male of course is the father. Surprisingly, Beanie was the little sickly female that for the first 3 months I had her I I fully expected to find dead every day and kept her in isolation for all that time. Well she finally came around a couple of months ago and I was able to put her back in the tank with Cecil and the other red eyed girls. I was able to capture a dozen little babies this morning and all of them have red eyes and gorgeous markings. I'm really surprised at how much red these guys have on them considering that Cecil is pure white and Beanie just has a tiny little freckle on top of her head.

The half red koi female looks like she's just about ready to drop as well. I'm hoping she'll have more than Beanie as she is substantially larger as well as substantially fatter.

Also, my coral red red-eyed lyretail female gave birth 2 days ago, unfortunately I only found 3 fry from her. 2 are going to be solid red like her and the 3rd looks like it's going to be pure white like Cecil.

Both new mothers are doing well and Cecil is busy ensuring that they keep producing.

I didn't get any pictures of the coral red's babies but I did get a couple of pictures of Beanie's kids prior to releasing them into the fry tank.

Congrats PB :D those look like they are going to be nice looking Koi Swords. I never did get any fry from my Kois, the just never seemed to get stronger. I am going to have to find some that look a lot healthier the first batch that I had were all a bit on the sickly side. The only one that looked like she would do good went and turned male and Morris had to go and do him in:X

i've never seen those kinds of swordtails. if you would be willing (when they get old enough) i would be interest in some if you don't mind.

AWWWWWWW  I WANT ONE, oh well, I wouldn't want one to be shipped to me by plane or travel down to Arizona for one. They are so cute, those have to be really rare, ALBINO AND EVERYTHING!!! Amazing :D

Polardbear, congratulations! :D They're looking lovely already. I'm looking forward to seeing them growing up!

For those who asked, here are some photos of the coral red lyretail female, Cecil the albino male and the koi female who is still waiting to drop. Beanie was to shy for photos today.

Babies are doing great but impossible to photo at this point. I promise, more pictures of them when they get just a little bit bigger.

Those are some BEAUTIFUL Swordtails! I love them! I want to go on a swordtail hunt, and buy the most unique colored, fin-shape swords! I love them as much as Rams, I used to like Guppies, but I am getting tired of them, I want to breed only rarer guppies (Like the ribbin ones)

Check Aquabid in the livebearers section frequently. Every once in a while some awesome swordies will show up. The guppys on Aquabid are also to die for.

My goal now is adding the lyretail trait to my Koi swordies, which should be relatively easy (knocks on wood) with the coral red female to cross with Cecil. Just need to get more than 3 babies out of her!
