wow my albino corys have just spawned, eggs prob won't hatch thou but now can't wait till my 12 uk gallon has cycled then i can put corys in there got about 32 eggs on back of the filter
also i know this may be a silly question, but do i need a male in there for them to spawn or will they just lay the eggs if they all females. asking as i'm not sure if i have males in the tanks or if the females have just laid eggs have just put an airline under where the eggs are so they have plenty of water cirrculation
I'm sorry that I didn't respond sooner, but I just saw your thread.
If your corys spawned, chances are good that you do have both sexes in your tank. I was going to refer you to a recent thread I posted on with pictures to help you determine what you had, but I see you have already seen it. Did it help you any?
You have done the right thing by putting an air stone under them to help circulate the water around them. Are they still there and doing well?
well they were ok till last nite when some 1 ate them . most of the eggs were like a very light brown colour butt about 4 of them went white, if i,ve read right the white 1's had got fungus on them so won't hatch & guess what the only eggs still there are the white 1's .
not to worry thou my 12g cory tank is nearly cycled now just in time for me new julli corys i just got
yeah i suppose they could have hatched but not seen them if they have althou it would be well cool if they have . just been lookin at where they were & all that is left is 3 of the 4 fungus eggs so even 1 of those went as well i'm taking they are really tiny when they hatch as well.
Cory fry are very small when they hatch. Remember they fit inside of a pretty small egg to begin with. They can be no larger than that.
It's possible that they were eaten by the other fish at that point. If there are hiding places in your tank, one or more could have made it to safety. In that case it might be weeks or more before you see any sign of it.
hi inchworm
yeah theres loads of little places they could be hading in there got slate & bogwood. the slates in such a way that i suppose they could be under that. so i will keep everything crossed that they hatched & are now hiding
thanks trace
