Well they finally done it! I alway knew my older one was female but thought my younger one was female too !! Was sitting watching them last night thinking that the older one looked really egged up...Got up this morning doing usual checks on tanks and had to double take ! A nioce wee batch of egg's stuck in the corner behind a plant ...Thankfully Black Neons havn't spotted them yet So hot footing it to LFS to get a mesh breeding net cause they can escape from my plastic one !!!

WAHOOOOO :D lol

well got them in ! Lost a few can't spot them against the sand so if the survive til hatching i'll catch them then ! There was around 30 egg's is this normal for a first time albino spawn? I know when my peppered first had there spawn there was about 50+ of them !

Will get some piccies of the eggs :D

Well they hatched on the 1st :D wahoo must have about about 20-30 fry now have been feeding on liquifry no1 for past 2 day's and will start crushed flake and pellet's with frozen feed next week

One lil question tho ....Will they be albino ? Some of them look to have small brown patches near there tails .I know that the albino's derive from Bronze cory so is there a chance that i'll get bronze cory rather than albino or could i get a mix .

Will try and get some pic's but there tiny wee things ! lol

:D

As far as im aware - i might be wrong, there are albino versions of most of the cories :) However i dont think the albino gene is recessive in cories, so you may get a throw back to the original colouring :) Congratulations on raising the fry!!!

Hi Kizz :)

Good to learn your fry are doing well. Be careful with the Liquifry because it will pollute a tank quickly. Daily water changes are in order anyway, so that the water is always fresh for them.

Most albino corys sold are C. aeneus. If you have bronze corys in the tank they might have spawned together. This is perfectly fine since they are just color variations of the same species. If this is the case, you will probably get some of each color in the batch. :D

They were kept in my community with bronze cory but were moved 2 weeks ago to my 71Litre and spawned a day after water change !(Typical) lol...Guess it will just be a waiting game and see what i get lol ! Love watching them develope :D lol

Greetings. There are only 5 or so specie of albino Cory that are seen. Not to say that more are not born in the wild, but the predation rate is 100%. You will see C. aeneus, C. paleatus, C. panda and C. sterbai commercially available. The Pandas are quite rare, but the others, fairly common. - Frank

So i take it there is no actual way to determine which albino species you have ...Mine look very similar to your picture Frank but most cory's are the same shape just different markings . Is there anyway to determine ...I can post pictures if it helps

Thank you :D

Don't forget about this albino C. venezuelanus I bought from you some time ago, Frank. I have recent spawns that are her grandchildren, but have never seen another albino.
