iwas told that they eat algae, that why i purchase it. isit true?

any advice please>?

i always have brown color stick algae that stick to the wall of the fishtank after i change water, let say it appear after a week after change of half tank of water...

is there any better fish to be added in the fishtank.

btw, i rear medium size gold fish

Reading about them and I found out they are carniverous so I would not think they will clean your tank like a britlenose plec or anything like that.

I am new but hope you research too can assist me and someone else may tell you otherwise. Books do get it wrong.

Corydoras are omnivores. They eat pretty much everything you give them. They wouldn't necessarily graze off the glass, but they would have a go at dust algae on gravel. However, I wouldn't add Coryodras to a tank with medium sized Goldfish. They have been known to eat Corydoras, which is bad news for both fish. This is becuase several species of Corydoras have a self-defence mechanism against being eaten by much larger fish. All Corys have very sharp fin spines and some seem to give off a low level toxic chemical into the water when frightened or highly stressed.

Please be patient as I would like to have corys but I think they are albino ones in my lfs?? They may be bronze I really will be trying to find out but I want to know that I am getting a peaceful set up and not anything that grows too large.
