Hi Guys

I thought albino cat fish were bottom dwellers? well i have 3 in my tank seem happy enough, but they keep swiming around the bubbles at the top and middle of tank but staying in that corner, should i turn the bubbles down? or is this normal?

Thanks

Lozzy

You mean albino corydoras, right?

If so, then this is quite normal behavior. Even in cycled, well-kept tanks, they swim around above the garvel. It is just the way they are, and there is nothing to worry about. Actually, I find it rather amusing. ;)

Just because they are catfish doesn't mean that they can't travel all around the tank especially if the tank is small (like a ten or twenty gallon). These fish live in rivers in the wild that can vary from a few feet to a dozen feet deep so I would think that it would be natural for them to not just press themselves to the bottom all the time. Plus corydoras can take oxygen from the air, which is why they are frequently seen diving for the surface!
