Hello all,
I have seen alot of posts on here about noisy air pumps, I had the same problem, so instead of buying a new, quieter pump, I thought i'd have a go at silencing the one I already have. (Elite 802)
I did this by getting some egg box foam and completely covering the inside of a cardboard box, sides, bottom and top.
It hasnt completely silenced the pump, but it is now much quieter.
my pump has been running in the box all day everyday for around 5 days now and it has not overheated.
I got the egg box foam out of an old gun case so it didnt cost me anything.
With the tv on you can hardly hear the pump, not a perfect solution, but its either free/cheap!
