I have had an Elite 800 for the better part of two years.
No problems.
But recently I have taken up the aquarium hobby and remembering that I had purchased an air pump.
I proceeded to open the package it had been storied in.
Within the last few months of use it’s life expectance has dramatically dwindled.
Riddled with what I think are serious problems. First the rubber base erodes like a crayon in a child’s hands leaving a doodle of marks on the furniture(very frustrating).
Observing the amount of damage created by it’s vibrations, I sought to tape the base but even this was eroded.
Second best solution I thought of was to suspend the pump by it’s electrical cord(this was the worst decision ever)within a week the cord dislodged power was cut off and it seized functioning.
Although at first I though had reached the point of no return .
The simplest of method worked, a sight tug every now and then fixes the problem.
This time I approached it at a different angle and suspended the base with a single intertwining wire.
Later looping this through a hole in a whisper bio bag to prevent to erosion(base was placed over the bio bag and wire mounted onto a nail that was driven into a wall).
The most recent concern I discovered today.
Was the imprint left behind from the electrical cord that I left laying on the hard plastic casing.
I was AMAZIED BY THE PUMPS POWER TO PULVERIZE IT’S OWN CASING WITH A RUBBER CORD!
I ‘am wondering if anyone out there has been plagued with these chronic problems.
