i got this air pump thrown in when i purcahsed another tank...so i hooked it up today and for some reason i can only get enough air pressure to have it bubble only at the top of the aquarium...if i try to move it deeper it wont bubble...

obviously it probably because its a relic, but can anyone think of something i can do or check to possibly increase the air pressure thats comming out?

Have you tried changing the filters. They are little round, white felt like pads, yours may well be black now with use. Try taking the filter pad out altogether and placing the airline into the tank to see if it makes any difference. If its not that then its the Diaphragm. (a black rubber sleeve inside the pump itself). Open the pump up and see if the Diaphragm is damaged, worn or has a hole in it. You will have to source the parts. sometimes the newer models have the same innards and the parts are virtually the same, contact the makers to find out first.

well i took it apart like you said...and your right, the diaphragm is worn out...seal broke around the edges...i might try and silcone it just for the hell of it and see what happens...but ya i might have to source the parts.

Its so old, the company was headquarters were located in 'West Germany' haha...but ill see what i can find..
