hi,
i just got a bit over 30 fries. My female dropped them like mad.
okay, so i seperated them from the others.

I've never raised guppy fries to full adult. They always died before that.
So this time i wanna make it right.

First of all, what the heck do i feed?
All the times in the past i've only fed flakes and i dont think it was enough. I am no expert but those fries were growing too slowly.
I dont have live foods and probably wont spend $15 for a pack of frozen bugs.

I heard some people feed egg yolks.
What do you guppy-pros feed your fry??

Please let me know.
Thanks alot~!

Brian,

You can feed live baby brine shrimp that you can hatch yourself.
Livebearer liquid fry food, is commonly used.
Very finely crushed flake food, that is almost like powder.

Those are the basic three things that you can feed to baby fry.
Good Luck :good:

1st off congratulations :)

i feed my fry 2-3 times daily, ground up flake that seems to work for me.

i feed mine crushed flakes twice a day until 2 weeks then once a day until a month old ten every other day for the rest of there lives, if you keep up on the feeding and keep there water nice and clean then you shouldn't have any problem with growth. how have you seperated them?

You can either feed them crushed up flakes, or you can go to your LFS to buy baby brine shrimp eggs. I was at petsmart the other day, and they only cost $3 or $4. You get to grow them, and then you can feed them to the fry.

microworms are perfect and full of the correct things they need to grow, very cheap to buy on ebay and easy to set up and maintain

Haha, guppy pros, haha, cool.

I feed my fry 3 times a day. Live brine shrimp 1 time, and VERY finley crushed tropical fish flakes the other two times. My only problem with brine shrimp is that they are kind of expensive and I don't have enough baby guppies to consume all of the fry that were in the packet in the small time period where they are still alive. I have a container with salt and a little bubble strip in it where I put the leftovers but I don't know if they survive in there. I just put the brine shrimp, eggs, and exo-skeletons all in the tank and the fry seem to love it, so I just do that. They've started growing allot faster after I started doing that.

A 30 fry drop is pretty good for someone who doesn't know what their doing, lol. My first drop was like 15, only 4 of which were males. It makes for a good male-female ratio in my tank though, lol! Congrads and good luck!
