I decided to put my 2 african dwarf frogs in with one of my bettas because I've heard on here that they get along really well. Well I guess not :X Just now I was watching the tank and one of the adfs lunged (sp?) towards the betta and grabbed onto it's tail and both were flipping around like crazy in the tank the frog holding on and not letting go!! I freaked out and my boyfriend reached in the tank and he actually had to pull the frog off the fish!! Poor fish was so stressed he swam to the top and stayed there breathing heavy  I think he'll be ok but those BAD frogs are so out of there.

I was really happy with the frogs living with the Betta as they had been living in a bowl before and I was getting so tired of doing water changes. Now I have to think of something else...

Darn frogs causing so much trouble!!

are you sure waht you got there is an afraican DWARF frog and not an afraican CLAW frog?

look between the frog's front legs and see if there is webbing there. If there is, it's a dwarf, if there isn't you got urself a claw frog :/

clawed frog will eat anything that moves in front of their face, bettas included, but dwarf frogs are generally very peaceful and don't do much :/

sorry to hear that your betta had such a bad expierencew tih them..maybe a snail or two will be a nicer option for him now

Hi cutecotton,

No they are the dwarf ones :) tiny little brown guys. I've had the one for over a year and just bought the other guy about a month ago.

I've had the clawed ones before as well but know they grow huge so I thought these little ones would suit me better...but I guess not!! They are so cute...I'm just bummed that I wont be able to keep them with the betta. Maybe I'll have to keep them in their own divided part.
