Hi all,
I bought a male & female pair of Kribensis last week and everything has been all fine until today... I noticed my female krib at the top of my tank in a corner on top of a leaf. I decided to push her into the tank (gentle bump) and when she got down the the bottom and the male krib seen her he chased her around? He was then flapping his tale at her? Last I checked they were in one of the caves and she was resting on her belly. What is happening?

Any help would be appreciated!
Nathan.

It sounds like they are getting ready to spawn. This is where the two make sure that the other is a suitable mate that is hardy enough to keep the gene pool strong. Fin-flapping, liplocking, and chasing. Unfortunately, if the male is older, or bigger than the female, he may kill her. This happens with all cichlids.
