I've had my red betta fish, Brain, for six months now, he's been an excellent fish - swam around avidly, ate adequately, flared up in front of his toy mirror, rested every now and then, made bubbles at the top of his bowl, but for the past month now he just laid at the bottom of his bowl nestled in the rocks. At fist we thought it was cold and wrapped a blanket around his bowl, then we thought he was depressed and I went online to find out how to make it better - that's how I found this forum, then I noticed this gray blotchy spots on his head and lower half of his body that he didn't have when i first got his and his fins looked as if they were turning into rotting lettuce! I went to the pet store and the owner told me he had a fungal infection - which naturally freaked me out! I got him Tetra Fungus Guard, it's a four day treatment, first of all I just wanna make sure it's a fungal infection and not the Ich i've been reading about, second do I feed him during the treatment? Are there other care methods i can do meanwhile to speed up the process? AND MOST IMPORTANT! Is he in any pain? I really don't want him suffering! Sorry I can't provide any pictures, I don't have a digital camera :/ I really want my fish to get better....
