Agressive Australian Rainbows?

I recently got a 55 gallon US tank and i've transfered a few of my fish over to the new tank, mainly my 4 rainbows. Since they've been in the tank 3 of the 4 have been picking on this one rainbow, nipping and bumping him around and he's reduced to hiding out behind my heater...

should I buy more rainbows? do they have a pecking order like tiger barbs? i haven't seen this behaviour until i moved them to the new larger tank (20gal->55gal).

i dnt really kno but rainbow fish are supposed to be really peaceful mine are i have a 3 shoals of 6 from 3 different species they all get along fine in my 50 gal planted
