My large mexican tail spot cichlid eats all the food I put in the tank.

Im worried the other fish don't get enough.

Any help or advice would be appreciated. Attached is a link to my tank.

Cheers, Eoin

We do not allow videos of fish eating other fish or other live creatures. We know this happens in real life, but we do not like to see it on TFF.

Are those tetras the food ? Not sure they will last very long in there. Is that a gar fish ?

I know it's nature but I don't like to see it, would I put a hawk in my budgie aviary, not on their life,..........just my thoughts

I see you're feeding bloodworm but that should only be A treat really. I would invest in Cichlid pellets. I wouldn't worry about the tetrAs missing out on food as they will soon be the food

with all the other foods available, i wouldn't use poor neons...ever consider something like small feeder fish that are raised by the hundreds for that purpose?

regardless, thats a cool fire eel.

I don't think he's using them as feeders I just think he's took a chance and bought them as dithers. Well hopefully lol

I have three predator fish and they get a treat now and again. No its not a Gar fish, which fish do you want to know about?

it seems a very mixed combination you have for your stocking, how big is the tank? as the eel and mayan cichlid will get very big....

so far i see neons, tire track eel, mayan cichlid and african cichlids

Thats is it 4 fish in total, the neons lasted an hour in the tank as food. Three fish are show in the video and there is a 2 year old pleco sucker in there.

My tank is two years old and and all fish have been raised from new born. They are killers but, thats nature. My fish are aggressive but are clearly healthy and undamaged and well cared for.

My video of my tank was BANNED from this website.
It see my tank on youtube search -

Fire eel - One year old - Feeds on Neon Tetra

cheers,

the video was removed as some may take offense to seeing live food used in this way - especially neons that are not often seen as a live food for predators.

However, we do allow live feeding videos in our Predators section as that is often a requirment for some species.
