Is it normal to have an aggressive pleco? I find it kind of weird. He's a common pleco around 4" that I bought from a local petstore. He's only aggressive when I feed the other fish.

I didn't think so, until I got a small BN Plec. He decided that at feeding time, only he was allowed to eat and he chased everything away. It was only at feeding time though and he was pretty harmless at any other time.. still, he had no place in my tank after that, as the little cories were getting bullied away from any food.

That's why I don't understand him..it's only feeding time..after that he calms down and minds his business

I tried feeding him seperate from the others so that he didn't bother anyone, but he still moved around the tank clearing any other fish off the bottom. Quite a lot of fish show aggression when feeding though, it's just he caused a fair bit of damage whilst doing so.

I say its normal. My clown Pleco would get a little bossy jumping on other fish or chase my BN away. I have even had plecos that have fought. SO yes plecos can get aggressive at times.
