Hi, i have a baby bristle nose plec, ive had him (hes got bristles on his nose so i assume hes male??) for about 2 months, hes about 5cm at the moment, hes normally fine but over the last few days iv seen him attacking my corys and frogs, he chases them and smacks into them and also tries to suck on them! Could he hurt them?? :/ they seem quite scared of him. What should i do, i thought these plecs were for community tanks??
Thanks x x

Tank is a 180 ltr corner tank. theres loads of places to hide, i have 2 large pieces of bogwood, with holes/cave to hide in and rocks and plants etc.
could he hurt the corys or frogs?
cheers x

not sure then...

Loads of room and what would normally be great hiding places for bristlenoses

You could try giving him a cave to call his own...

he's got his own little cave in bogwood?
could he hurt the corys or frogs?

sorry. kept missing that bit..

I doubt he'll hurt them - the only time they normally cause injuries is when BN's fight or breed.

Corys will get out of the way - not sure about the frogs as I've never kept them...

What are you feeding him on? My two ancistrus are fairly laid back, but territorial sometimes. Neither have attacked other fish though.

Yeh thats very strange, I have never known bristlenoses to be aggressive and until this week I had 2 adults and about 30 juvies in my community tank. They have the occasional spat with each other but never bother the other fish.

hey im feeding him on cucumber and algae wafers
