Have a breeding pair of african jewel cichlids. This is their 3rd brood of young. Current fry were about 3 days old but male has eaten them and bitten most of tail out of female. Only other fish in tank are loach and bristle nose. 75litre tank. Female will likely die. Is this type of aggression from the male to be expected? Would greatly appreciate some input? thanks.
