I have a 10 gallon breeding tank set up as follows:

Air stone turned off.
Filter turned off.
Fake vegetation on one side of the tank for the female.
Bubble nest area for the male on the opposite side.
Female is currently floated in a seperate container within the bowl.
Both have been prepped with a mix of betta food and blood worms for about a week.
Male has received quarter changes with the female's water twice daily for 3 days.
Water is at an even 77 degrees
-------------------------------------

My problem is that my male will swim to the female in her container. She flares up and he will always swim off in a panic. He hasn't worked on his bubble nest at all and has sulked away from her all day.

Anything to help?

My male not ready or able to mate?

Is it a problem with my female?

Try pulling the female out for 2-3 days. Leave the male be and jack up the temp a couple more degrees. Re-introduce the female and see what happens.

alright, I'll give that a shot. woke up this morning and my male seemed to have bravened up a bit but still no bubble nest. What's an ideal spawning temperature?
