Hi, i am new to fish keeping and have had 4 african dwarf frogs since november, they appear to be doing well but am constantly worried they are not getting enough food.
I feed them a frozen portion of blood worms every other day but initially the block floats so find it hard to get it in one place, then my betta splendens gets hold of it and spreads it around!
When whats left settles the frogs take ages finding it, the splenden finds it quicker!!
Does anyone have experience of these frogs and the best way to feed them?

I have a long pair of tweezers and feed them direct. They also eat sinking catfish pellets on other days which I just drop near them.

I agree, they are a bit difficult to feed and their eyesight isn't the best.

I have these "Zoomed aquatic frog and tadpole pellets" which after about a week of teaching the frogs where the food was I got to a stage where I could simply turn the filter off for a few seconds then drop a fair few in, it takes the frogs a minute to find them but the fish in my tank seem to struggle to eat it! (Celestial pearl danio + honey gourami) Been doing it for a few months now and theyre both still quite plump!

I used to hand feed them for about 2 months and eventually it lost it's novelty so I'm glad I figured this way out!
Make sure you watch them eating so you know they're getting a good meal :). I've also heard that bloodworm doesnt fulfill all of the frogs dietary needs and the pellets should be used as a staple with the bloodworm being a treat.

Thanks for the advice, will look into getting the pellets. Tweezers sounds like a solution. Had noticed that they like to hide away so wondered if i put the bloodworms in where they hide, that way they are sure to find them and the fish cant. All four look pretty plump so must be getting what they need.

You'd be better off defrosting the bloodworm in a bit of tank water first, then suck it up in a turkey baster/large pipette and squirt it directly onto the floor of the tank. I also feed Tetra Reptomin which my Betta ignores (this needs to be soaked then the air squeezed out of it before feeding otherwise it won't sink).
