My LFS told me last week that they don't stock ADFs because they release toxins? Along with the explanation that they cause death because of this? Could someone clarify if this statement is true or false. It's put me off wanting to get one!

Cheers

I've never heard of that, and can't find anything on good ol' google to indicate that it might be right.

I could be wrong, but it sounds like a case of "newb fish attendant syndrome", commonly found in your local LFS.
ADF's do shed their skin, but the only toxins that I know of that you should be worried about are ammonia (from when they urinate, which all animals do), and maybe nitrites when they defecate.

I couldn't find anything either. The guy said he didn't sell ADFs in his shop because of the "toxins" lol. i'll be finding another shop that sells them then!

cheers :good:
