ADF's are tropical frogs and not cold water.

think about it logically
they are called African dwarf frogs
they come from Africa and that is a hot country(tropics).
the only place in Africa that regularly gets cold is the top of Mt Killamanjaro.
these frogs do not come from there.

so your going to belive a guy that wants to take your money, rather than follow sound
advice from someone that gains nothing in return.
Ok but don't say you wern't told.

Oh and minnows are sub-tropical fish not coldwater, but you won't belive that either.

I've only ever saw adf,s in a tropical tank never a coldwater.

Ok.
Yes they are from africa, but you can keep them in a goldie tank, providing the temp stays between 68 and 84 degrees.
I have had several housed with my goldies in the past in 70 degree water.
You "will" need a lid, they "will" jump out.

You may have to watch your goldies however, some may harrass the frogs causing undue stress.

Whatever happened to directing people in the right direction, with the correct information and not being so dam black or white, and rude?
There is a color grey in the color chart the last time I checked!

:D

OK, that's enough name calling! phillip asked a legitimate question and deserves a civil answer!

Hi phillip,

African Dwarfs are fully aquatic and need to be kept underwater, but they are also good jumpers. If you keep one in a tank without a tight fitting lid they will escape. Since they are aquatic, after a little while they will dry out and die.

They can survive and do well in a wide range of temperatures and normal home temperatures will be fine. They do not usually need to be kept in a heated tank.

I tried keeping them with goldfish, but the goldies grew faster and began hogging all the food. Since they ACFs feed by a reflex action when food passes near them, they are not adept at finding crumbs at the bottom.

All things considered, they are best kept alone. :D

Yes, superjalami30  I have a friend who feeds her's live blackworms from a fork every night. :D
