African Dwarf Frog Questions

I have a 55 gallon tank with African cichlids (labs and rusties), and a 10 gallon that I either want to use as a fry tank for the cichlids (they're a bit too young to bear young at present), or else have a few community fish. I would like to get 1 or 2 frogs for the 10 gallon. I have alkaline water with pH 7.8-8.0 naturally, and I plan to have a heater, filter, everything set up and cycled.

My main questions--would the frogs eat the cichlid fry, if I decided to keep it as a fry tank when there are fry, and then simply a frog tank otherwise? If I did community fish instead, are there any particular fish I should avoid with the frogs?

if your talking about african dwarf frogs=with the fry i would not mix them...they are supposed to be fed worms and brine shrimp..so they are meat eaters...i think that they would be able to eat a few fry...

another problem is the ph is kind of way to high for them...

in a community tank they will do fine...but you must be sure they get a fair share of the worms or whatever else u give them because most fish eat the food before it reaches them...ive had the pleasure of owning these little guys and they are very interesting and cute...

now with african clawed frogs=personally i dispise these creatures...they are mean...big and eat anything they get there hands on...i once tried to own one and he ate a fish...a good sized fish to...so back to the store he went...i will never own one of them again...in many states they are outlawed because if they are realsed into ponds they could devistate the ecosystem in the pond...

the choice is up to you...but with a fry tank i would say no...a community tank yes to the dwarfs

do not put dwarfs with cichlids...you will have a dead frog

Agree with everything that phoenixfire has said.I keep both ADCF and ACF and i have seen the Dwarf variety take fish the size of a Neon and the ACFs wel i wouldnt ever put them near any of my fish they are swiming garbage bins that will try and take anything
