i'm writing up a list of what i want in my aquarium, and i've been checking to make sure the fish are compatible. most of my fish want slightly acid ph, but i just noticed that african dwarf frogs prefer slightly alkaline

the fish i was thinking of are various tetra and corys

can i compromise and use neutral ph water? will everyone be happy? are frogs fussier than fish?

well i just got what i hope is an ADF - my water is pH6-7
i think you will find it difficult to alter the pH of your water satisfactorily, if you are that concerned i would advice chosing species to match your water rather than the other way around.
i hadnt read anything about any pH preference of the frog, and so far he seems happy - but 1 day isnt much to judge on
