Hello I need some advice on a filter for my two dwarf frogs, I know some sites say you don't have to have one but I would rather have one to help keep the tank cleaner. So I was wanting to know do any vibration's from a filter bother the frogs that much? They are in a 15 gallon round tank and so I cant just use any filter like you can with a square tank because you can't hang them on the side of a round tank. The tank came with a filter that is in the top of the lid I don't think that the water current is that strong so I have watched them and they can still swim to the top just fine, I just wasn't sure about the vibration of the filter it's not too bad but there is a little vibration. Does anyone have any suggestions if they should be ok with the filter or should I not use one? Thanks!

your filter is probably fine.

frogs "sense" things in the water through their skin - - they are sensitive to vibrations in the surrounding water because it "signals" that there is something moving near them that could be predator or prey - - a fish swimming by etc.

but some sites compare it to "living with a jackhammer 24/7" - - this is a bit of a dramatization in my opinion. my frogs have never seemed any worse for wear in a tank with a filter.

in my 10 gallon i have an elite stingray for 15 gallons in there, aim the jet at the wall of the tank, and all is fine :good:

clean water benefits them much more than just a tiny vibration would bother them

Thank you so much for your advice, I would feel better having a filter than not having one so I will go ahead and use it and hopefully the vibration wont bother them. I appreciate your help!
