Hey all, I bought my ACF about a month ago at around 1/2", he's only grown to about 3/4", is this normal as I heard they grow pretty quickly... I currently have him in his own 10gallon tank, but my question is can I add some fish in the tank with him untill he gets larger? Nothing too small, the smallest thing would be a black skirt tetra... I've got a 10gallon tank with black skirts and a dwarf gourami so I was wondering if I could add my little ACF with my fish in the 10gallon tank untill he grows a bit?

I assume you are measuring simply the body length? How much and what type of food do you offer? I think he is growing a little bit slow, mine grew about a half inch-3/4 of an inch in a month. I feed a LOT of food to mine. She would gobble down 4-5 1-1.5" rosy reds a day, and then some pellets. When I don't have live fish in the tank as food, I feed somewhere around 6 times a day, an assortment of floating shrimp and 4-6 frog pellets, do note, this doesn't even fill her up completely, and while I don't have fish she's not as bulky. For adding fish: No, Doesn't matter the size of the fish, if he gets a hold of one, he'll shred it. My frog at 1.5-2" was attacking 5-6" goldfish without hesitation, hell it went after my pair of convicts multiple times. Not to mention, these frogs can eat fish that you probably think they cant... Mine eats 1.5" goldfish regularly and she's only around 3" herself, and I know for sure she will get around to eating the 2" I have in there.

see that's the thing, I have a guppy in the tank (the guppy was born and raised at my house to about 1/4" at my house) and he's not even interested... I didn't know to feed them 6 times a day! I feed him usually 2-3 times a day about 6 sinking pellets as he doesn't seem to like floating pellets...

How full is your tank? Is it lighted? I know my frog was very skittish and wouldn't eat surface food or anything. Try being around it more. Yea I feed mine about 4-6 floating pellets that are between .5-.75" long around 6 times a day without fish to eat, I'm sure that once your frog is more comfortable you won't have a guppy.

tanks full to the top, and I can't be around it anymore than I already am seeing as it's right beside my bed... 15watt light... hey do you think he'd eat tiger barbs? Cuz I hate mine for what they did to my fish! jerks decided to gang up and kill my guppy lol ya I know basically asked for it but still!
