I WANT TO START A TANK WITH AFRICAN CICHLIDS BUT PEOPLE SAY THEIR TO HARD TO MAINTAIN, ARE TO AGRESSIVE AND THEY KILL EACH OTHER.AM VERY CONFUSED WHAT TO DO AS NUMEROUS PET SHOPS TELL ME DIFFERENT ADVICE AND DON'T NO WHO TO BELIEVE.SOME SAY THERE EASY SOME SAY THERE HARD.AND WHAT TYPE TO START OFF WITH.

Everybody is right in a way. These fish can be very aggressive and can kill each other. It's important to learn about the different kinds of Africans, provide an appropriate sized tank for the species, plan the tank in advance, never impulse buy, and always assume cichlids are not compatible until you know otherwise. Once a good balance has been achieved with stocking choices these are actually very easy tanks to maintain. Also remove caps lock to make your posts easier to read.
