Hi, i need a bit of advice, my dads tank has started leaking and he has 5 african cichlids in it but we need to put them in a tank whilst it is being drained and fixed. am i able to put them in my tropical fish tank which has neons angel fish paridise fish and a few others.

If you dont mind the african cichlids killing all your other fish, then yeah go for it

Most likely a bloodbath, yeah. If they're something like kribensis, maybe, but rift valley cichlids will probably eat the neons and kill the angelfish. At the very least, it'll be unpleasant for the community fish.

Do you have a good sized tub? Put the fish in that, put some screen over it so they can't jump, and run the filters on it.

I would say put them in a tub aswell with an air stone and filter. Depending on the ph difference between your tropical and african tank and what africans you have will depend if they survive or the others get eaten alive. The ph swing may kill them. When we set up our tropical tank we had electric yellows in with tropical fish and while they were small they were fine but once they got bigger then the angryness started. So we bought another 3ft tank for our africans.
