I have a 4ft tank thats been running for around 2months, with nothing in it, i sold the fish that were in it a while ago, i was wanting to start an african cichlid tank.

The fish i was planning on putting in a tank were -

Electric Yellows (Labidochromis caeruleus)
Electric Blues (Sciaenochromis fryeri)
Hongi (Sp. Hongi)
Fuelleborni (Labeotropheus fuelleborni)
Red Zebras (Metriaclima (aka Maylandia) estherae)
Cobalt Blues (Metriaclima callainos)

What fish are compatible with what?

And also what are your fav. fish out of those listed?

Hello again, you've confirmed that the electric blues are Sciaenochromis fryeri and due to their different size, temperament, environment and dietary requirements, i would leave them out. Like I said, i like the rest.

The Fryeri actually shares a similar diet to the Labidochromis varieties. The zebras are omnivorous and need more veggie in the diet. The Labeotropheus are almost pure herbivore. It can be a tough mix to feed, though the labeo's are the only real worry. The fryeri isn't a good choice if you plan on stocking heavily on mbuna due to their aggression and activity levels.
