Fish Fanatic
Ok I use to breed bettas so im not real new to having fish for a hobby I have recently decided to stop breeding bettas for awhile and turn my 30 gal tank into a aggressive tank ( was being used for grow out tank for bettas). I completely drained cleaned tank including rocks I let the tank go thru its cycles fishless. I then went to the fish store baught 4 plants and also got rocks for decor. After another 3 weeks of letting the plants and rocks be in the tank I then went to the store and starting looking at fish I like aggresive so when i seen these fish being feed goldfish and the size they were i had to get some but since my tank is only 30 gal i didnt buy the big african chiclids i actually got 4 Chiclids that are about 2 1/2 inch long and i also got a Placo now i know my tank cant support this many fish that get 6-8 inch long but i already have planned in my budget to get a 55 gal tank in 2 months and I should have that much time i figure 55 gal tank in 2 months 6 weeks to cycle the fish should last that long in the 30 gal.Now the delima i am facing is I feed 2 times a day once in the morning and once at night. I feed them Hykari's Cichlid Gold baby pellets floating type.To me this seems like plenty of food but these little guys are also eating my live plants which i know they also eat plants but im scared of them over feeding Should i cut feeding down to 1 time a day then let them just feed on plants in mean time when they get litle hungry or should i keep up with 2 daily feedings?
Also by the way the Cichlids i have are i have 2 I think there called Mbuna ( black with a real bright pretty blue stripes) and the other 2 are bright yellow with black stripes i got male and female of both species.
