hi im thinking of buying an african butterfly fish with some money that is left over from my baby bristlenoses (well not so much babies now as the males are growing bristles)
my tank is 23 gallons and inhabitants include:

1 silver shark
2 columbian tetras
1 blue panchax killifish
2 bristlenose plecostomus
2 madagascar rainbowfish
4 pristella tetras
1 peppered corydoras

i really like them and i have found some infomation which makes me think my blue panchax killi is at risk.

any advice is appreciated

Madagascar rainbows are small rainbows aren't they? I probably wouldn't risk it. Btw, I would love to see the paludarium plans... are you actually going to be able to do it or are you like me, stuck with the whole idea on the back burner?

i would love to do it but i cant until i move from my rented house into my new one (cant risk any water damage and i dont have anywere to put it right now) so yes i am going to do it sometime next year

you would need a 50 gallon tank to store an african butterfly in this tank happily. you will have to be carefull as the fish may try to eat the frogs that stray into the water or even try and jump out at them so mabey this fish isnt the best choice for this tank.

i have posted a guide on what you need to make my design in Amphibians & Aquatic Reptiles section of this forum
