African Butterfly Fish

Hey there, I recently (yesterday) purchased a nice African Butterfly Fish for $7.88 I know a little bit about these fish, however if anybody could give me some extra information I'd be very happy

They love mealworms =]

And mine also likes to hide in floating plants. They also dislike fast-moving water.

Its a predator so any small fish are in danger of being eaten, the ABF mouth is huge compared to its head size. Aslo they love to jump, so make sure there are no gaps in the tank. I had the smallest of gaps and came home to mine on the floor dead :

Sexing is by the anal fin shape one sex is curved the other is straight.

I agree on that one, I'll try to get pics but my dad just reorganized his office, it may take me a while to find the camera .


Anybody know the maximum size of these lovly little guys? I've been told 4", but I've read online 7", and in books I've read 5"! Which is right?!?!

The male has a convex curve on the anal fin, female doesnt
