Just wondering what people think is the best way to run carbon? i don't have a sump or external filter so cant run it that way. I have read lots of people run it using a sock or media bag in the tank.

All input is appreciated :good:

You can put it wherever you want really. For tanks where I don't have any sort of filter chamber to stick it in, I have either just dunked it in or used air-driven filters to store it (helps keep it safe from curious crustacean hands among other things).

Come on people!! one reply in 24 hours :( there must be a good few people on here running carbon.

Thanks Donya for your input :good:

I am currently running mine in a reactor but in the past have thrown it in a skimmer compartment. You can also just hang it in a media bag in a high flow area of the tank.

Sorry for the late reply :p

The site seems to have died right down lately for some reason :( i dont know why because everyone is friendly and informative!

No, I dont think it is a silly idea.

Site comes in spits and spats. A lot depends on time of the day and what day. Also weather and other such. Sometimes its too busy to keep on top of all the threads.

I agree with JH1989! You can put it in a reactor/internal or external filter/sump/weir or just hang it in a media bag near a powerhead.

So long as it's contained and in an area with good flow then it's all good mate!

I currently use the fluval range and keep it in a media bag in one of wiers! I wash it out in used tank water weekly and replace it monthly.
