anybody know about feeding pirahna snails (out of there shells), woodlice etc and cooked human food (as in the meat that i am eating) and how much to feed them for rapid growth? i want to get them growing and canibalising each other like yours do!

i have 4 small (5cm pirahna) in a 45x25x25cm=28 litre tank (8 us gallon i think) with cover for them and no light (because they don't like it too bright so i'm told) and a 100 watt heater as my room is cold right now. it maybe that the tank is a bit small but they are small and i will get a larger one when they start to get a bit bigger.

Also is it safe to put pre-soaked wood, rocks and british river weed in there or is that likely to lead to diseases?

A bit small is a understatement!!!! To keep pirahna you need a minimum of a 55g tank for one with a additional 10g per fish after that, to keep 4 pirahna IMO you need a tank of at least 75 us gallons. Your tank may be able to house them now but you will need a bigger tank within the next few months.

To get them growing at this small size feed bloodworms and small pieces of fish daily, its best to avoid mammal proteins as fish have difficulty digesting these.

As I said when you PM me rowanf that tank is way way to small and CFC has agreed. As I said CFC has helped you with the food side of things more than me but tank size me and CFC both say the same things so please do upgrade in the near future.

Good Luck
