I have just about filled my twenty gallon tank now. I have just bought pair of Honey Gouramis. They are beautiful and haven't started eating plants yet as they are supposed to do. Looking at the inhabitants in my tank (see my signature), I want to add one more female platy, but want to know if Honey Gouramis get along better as one pair in a tank, or whether it would be advantageous to get another pair.

Also, how do they breed, do they build a bubble nest or are they egg scatterers

Does anyone have problems feeding these fishies. They seem to turn their nose up at all flake foods, and will only eat blood worms and brine shrimp. If I only feed these, I am going to have some very roly-poly fish by the end of the week

They do seem to eat the sinking tablets for bottom feeders, but the Platies and Albino Corys don't give the Gouramis or tetras a look in

Any advice on keeping the gouramis would be much appreciated, as they are beautiful fish

Dont those Gouramis have real pretty color I might be mistaken but your betta will fight with the new fish I'm not sure on this one. I hope someone will tell you if this is true pretty soon.

I have 6 honey gouramis in my tank and they all get along fine. They are a cute and peaceful fish. Mine eats flakes and peck at the shrimp pellets I put in for my bottom feeders. They don't get very big. They are real cute when babies chasing each other around. I think they are bubble nest builders, but haven't bred any.

They seem to be fine FKS&H. In the shop 6 pairs lived with a male Siamese fighter with no problems

Their finnage is a bit smaller than that of the blue male Dwarf Gourami which is why I don't think there have been any problems. Plus my betta is really docile, and wouldn't know what bothering was if it came up and bit him

Better that you want not to add... Because if you want to keep Honey gouramis (Colisa sota), you have to keep water as acidic and soft. Turf-filtration is 'much more than only good' for Honey gouramis. And... Platies need basic, hard water.

Does anyone have problems feeding these fishies

No, but they are quite demanding about water quality and fresh water.
