Advice please

could anyone please help i would like to put a pewter ornament in my tropical tank but not sure if it will do any harm please help

Not sure what a pewter ornament is, but......

With anything you are not sure about for you tank, do the vinegar test.

Pour a little vinegar on the ornament if it fizzles up, then it is no good!

Isn't pewter metal?... I don't think metal should be in the tank, it kills the fish. (Wish you could though, I have some awsome pewter thingies that I would love to put in mine too...)

I forgot to ask does anyone know what i can seal plaster of paris with to prevent it from corroding while it is in the tank

Pewter is made up of Tin, Antimony and Copper.
None of these will do any good if submersed in water for any length of time and will cause problems for fish.
