Hi there,
So I now have a 100 x 40 x 50 tank, and a d&d pressurised CO2 kit. I now don't know what to do for substrate or lighting/hood.

Mainly because I'm not sure what I want to do with the tank! I would like it to be a Diana Walsteady type approach in the low maintenence side. I would love to have some rocks, bogwood covered in java moss and dwarf hairgrass areas. Fish wise I would like a shoal of cardinals and galaxy rasboras, and I have 2 x 3" plecs (one unidentified one L200) I would love to have an army of cherry shrimps. Maybe some ottos, maybe some cories, I have 2 sterbais already.

Question 1) I normally use overpowered fluval external filters (204 on an approx 90l tank) what should I use for this tank bearing in mind the Diana walsteady theme and I'm quite poor?

Question 2) Substrate, I can either get seachem onyx gravel or sand, aquaclay ground or eco complete. I could maybe ask them to order in fluorite specially. Or I could go down the soil route... But apparently after about a year it will need replacing...

Question 3) Too much choice for lighting! I'm not sure whether I should go for hagen HO T5, or realux HOT5, PC or T8s... Should I get a luminaire or make a hood... Sigh...

Oh and just to cheer everyone up, Aqua Essentials are definately NOT stocking plants again. I emailed them and Richard replied saying no we won't - sorry.
