Advice on Tanks!!

Ok... i Have a problem!!!lol I have a male and female betta and two 2 gal bowls which are next to each other. I HATE these bowls!!!! They're horrible plastic things and they look awful so ive asked at my LFS and apparently if i give them the sizes and stuff they can custom make a tank for me! :D

So, i want a glass tank thats divided so they can be next to each other - Trouble with space means that although they can see each other at the moment, they're quite far apart!
Obviously the bigger it is, the more expensive it gets... so, what would be an ideal size for them to have each? I was thinking 1 gallon each, would that be enough?

Im not planning on breeding them, this is just to house them!! Any advice would be gratefully recieved! :D

I would give them 2 gallons each(1"=1 gallon).

Hey,

Thanks for the reply! You think one gallon wouldn't be enough then?! I shall look into getting a four gallon divided tank if that would be best for them :)

really it depens onthe dimensions of the tank. 1 gallon if it is much wider than taller. 2 or more if the tank is taller.

Hey Jacblades,

The LFS said they can make the tank however i want it, so if i ask for it to be wider rather than taller i could get away with 1 gallon each?! I suppose i could go for 1 &1/2 gallons! :) That would give them just a little bit extra room! :)
I dont really want to go for more than 2 gallons as its going to start getting expensive, but obviously i want them to have a nice home!

Thanks

Jess

yeah-its kind of pointless to have 2 gallons if your tank looks like this

make sure each secion is wider rather than taller for the fish to utilize all of the space :)

I dont think my Arnie ( my male :D ) would like that at all!!! he likes to swim along his tank... I shall go to my lfs tomorrow and see what they can do!!

Thank You! :)
