Advice On New Lighting Unit Please

Hi,
Im after advice on my juwel vision 260 tank lights, it is 2yrs old and had T8 bulbs replaced.
One of the bulbs started flashing and at the same time both lights randomly kept going out and coming on, from what ive read on here it is my lighting system,
Anyway im not sure to get another the same or replace with the new T5 lighting bar? the bulbs are quite dear but will they last longer also ive read that the T8 lighting bar tends to go wrong lots in juwel tanks, would the T5 fair better?

yep, sorry to say, that sounds like a juwel light bar thats a few years old. you could try to split the ibar, not a job for the faint of heart, but to be honest you may be better changing the whole thing.

Yes thought so
I have seen a T5 lighting unit for 64.99 deliverd and i have a £5 gift voucher, i know they dont come with bulbs but this seems a fair price.
And ive just bought a brand new tropical bulb for my T8

shame you are so far away, if it were brand new i would have had it off you. i use a juwel ibar for my fish photography. i do have a juwel ibar for a 180, i think it is the same, going for £35, or trade for gear. but it too is a few years old, though it is going strong still.

My T8 rio 125 bar went just like yours so i carefully cut through and replace it with a new ballast unit PQT8218 for £18.80 instead of £55 for complete unit and away it went no probs for last 8 months

WE GOT A JUWEL 190 LTR ONE AND WE REPLACED OUR LIGHT UNIT BUT ONLY LASTED 6 MTHS CANT FIND THE RECIPT FOR IT DAME THATS TWO WE GONE THRU IN TWO YEARS
