Well, I went and did it and added a Black Ghost Knifefish Friday morning to my 65 gallon aquarium. It is approximatly 4" at the moment. I am also aware that I will need to probably upgrade my tank and am planning on doing so next year to a 150 gallon 4' long tank.

I am however not sure how to feed the BGK as he seems to hide in a mopani stump i have. I actually figured and hoped he would find a home in it but was expecting to see him out more often.

Any ideas on the best way to feed the BGK ? When I feed frozen cubes of bloodworms and brine shrimp my 2 angelfish seem to gobble it up pretty fast. I am not sure he is getting anything to eat or enough to eat. How can I be sure the BGK eats enough?

Thanks for the advice it is greatly appriciated.

My current setup is as follows.

65 Gallon Tank. 3' long 18" deep and 24" high.
2 - Rena XP3 Filters running.
Ammonia - 0
Nitrite - 0
Nitrate - 10
PH- 7.2-7.4

Fish Load:
2 Angelfish - ( M/L) Male and Female lay eggs every 11 days never hatch :shout:
6 Coradora's
2 Clown Loaches
1 Rainbow Shark 4 "
1 BGK 4"

Thanks for the help, and appriciate any help the forum can give me. I also ordered a 36" Signature Series Moonlight (R2 Solutions ) hoping this would allow me to see more night activity.

Try him on love tubifex. Drain it out into a net, then put it into a feeder dish and slowly lower it into the water. Then, dig it into the gravel, near where he hangs out.
It'll be come more confident in time, dont worry :good:

Mine eats pretty much anything but started on frozen bloodworms are chopped prawns. He now particilarly loves shelled frozen peas.

feed it just after the lights have gone out as it will feel much more secure and will likely get a better share of the food

he'll be fine.once he's settled he will eat anything you put in. mine eats voraciously flake, brine and frozen bloodworm plus the catfish tablets
