Hi, I just built two new tank stands, for four foot long tanks, I currently only have the one four foot tank, but I know where to get the second one so when everything is in place, I will purchase the second one. My question is, since I built the stand from 10x3's I recycled from demolition of an old hotel, the tops(where the stands will sit) are not COMPLETELY level so, I'm wondering what I should use as a base for between the stand and the actual top of the stand, I've seen these pad-type things they sell at pet shops, but just wondering if anyone has any suggestions, I've added a couple of pics here, so please no laughing at Me , My hair, or My handywork. Thanx in advance, enjoy laughing, lol, Scott

they look nice and sturdy.

Most people use a sheet of polystyrene. I use thick-pile, closely woven carpet! Anything that will enable an even distribution of weight and not create areas of more pressure than others.

Looks good matey (you really need to evict that troll though) Get youself some polystyrene tiles, or slabs of the stuff ... your local ikea has masses of it blowing around the car park !
