With winter approaching,

what preperation is best for a garden pond?

how much should i feed the fish?

what do i do with the air/water pumps? and the filter?

what do i do if the pond ices over?

do i leave the plants in?

what else is there to do?????

this is our first winter with the fish (for those who dont know, we got them with the house) and any advice will help..

Cheers,
Paul

i asume as you got the fish with the house they should be fine outside ,my sister lives in your neck of the woods and winters tend to be mild
my best advice is to keep an eye on the pond and if things ie filters and features do start to freeze switch them off /remove them from line ,keep the water circulating though i just drop my pump, water features below the surface and keep em running ,but then im in the north east and we have proper winters, ill be covering mine with policarbonate sheeting as soon as the first freeze arrives
