I have a 120 gallon tank that needs some new lighting. I had 2 Nicrew on it but they were originally purchased for a shallower tank. Haven't gotten new lighting for my freshwater tanks on a while so am looking for any recommendations.

The tank is 4' x 2' x 2' and current plan is no plants or maybe a couple Anubias.

Tank will have three Astronotus crassipinnis, a Royal pleco, a 3 beacon pleco, smattering of Cory, a black ghost knife fish, and a parrot fish.

You could use a couple of LED spotlights from a hardware store. They would provide enough light to see the fish and grow Anubias and a some algae for the suckermouth catfish, and is the cheapest option considering you aren't into plants. Alternatively any LED light unit will do just to provide some light to see the fish.

I am into plants, just not for this tank. Will to see what LED options I have, thanks.

I have both the one linked, and the previous model, that used the wireless remote, and there is a significant difference in the brightness…

I found the ones with the wireless remote, easier to customize the colors, both have instructions, with the printing so small, I couldn’t read them even with a magnifying glass… but the “sky’s” are pretty much plug and play, and I’m ok with the factory set spectrum… and there is a setting “2” that is the blue light, that I use for a half hour before I switch the lights off for the night

Looking forward to seeing it on the tank, should be delivered Monday.

With a 2 foot wide, 2 foot deep tank, you may want 2 eventually… I run 2 of the 36 inch wide on my 45 gallon talls, that are 24 inches deep, plenty of light, but those are only 14 wide, I think… but I run 2 lights for the added depth
